So the city wants to enforce jaywalking.
So the city wants to enforce jaywalking. Fair enough. But in all fairness, how about some support for the pedestrians too!! What do I mean? How about ticketing the asshats who fail to respect the pedestrian right of way, preventing predestrians from crossing during the designated walk cycle, forcing pedestrians to ... um ... jaywalk? How about ticketing the asshats who stop right in the middle of the designated pedestrian right of ways, forcing pedestrians to ... um... jaywalk?
This is a big problem at Main and University and certainly downtown as well.

In regards to the District 150 illegal street crossing people, African-American or not, break the law they should be punished. In a school district where the minority is Caucasian it is not coincidence that most people in this case were not Caucasians. In fact if the lawbreakers were Caucasian then I would contend the police department was profiling. What this does is show the disparity in law enforcement in providing an equal judgment to minorities and encourages the hate between races. As an African-American myself I have seen too many my brothers fighting over the wrong cause thus hurting our ability to grow. We can see this with the O.J. Simpson trail were our efforts became a joke. Fight the good cause not the wrong one.
