Don't like the gas prices?

It will cost you $300 a year to ride the bus anywhere, as much as you like, in Peoria.

$300 !!!

How much did you spend on gas this month? Car payments? Insurance?

People wonder why folks in the 'poorer' side of town can't fix up their homes. When you build the local infrastructure to emphasis cars and not pedestrians, we all suffer.

City Link

The only gripes I have about Peoria's bus line are:

a) They stop any ole place. As gas prices go up and more people take the bus, stopping any ole place will be a BIG problem. In Europe and in many larger U.S. cities, the bus stops at a predetermined bus stop and only at that bus stop. You walk to and from there.

b) We treat our bus riders poorly by not providing proper bus stops. They need shelters. You see a few around town but not many. The city also should provide a pull off lane for the bus at each predetermined bus stop.

c) Poor signage. There is no route information at the bus stops.

d) Peoria has done a piss poor job of capitalizing on their new bus station downtown. Normally this would be an ideal place to locate numerous retail outlets. Instead we have parking lots, a porn shop, and possibly a hotel.
